Spyware And Virus What’s The Difference

Virology - Virus No Comments

Spyware are much more dangerous than viruses, here’s why:

A spyware spies on you, these take screenshot of your computer (without you having a clue), and basically can know anything you do on your computer. If you buy online the spyware can know the credit card number you entered, or if you login to facebook or anywhere else they can know the password you typed!

So as you can see that’s the most dangerous thing that can happen.

A virus does not spy, it destroys. Therefore if you have a virus it can damage a part of your computer, and if that part happens to be critical for the computer to function properly you may need to re install windows and such other complicated procedures . . . depending on the amount and type of damage the virus creates.

So both are bad, but luckily there are TWO easy solutions and you can practically rest assured you won’t get any spyware or viruses. Or at least if you do you will be able to remove it, or it might happen once in a lifetime.

1) You need an antivirus and an anti spyware the best software. Another problem people face is that their anti virus or anti spyware software identified a program, or file as a virus or spyware although you know it isn’t. This happens sometimes, and it’s just a mistake the software does. If you downloaded for instance Yahoo Messenger, your anti virus may identify it as a virus, these “mistakes” can happen, no software is perfect.

So what about trojans, adware, malware, parasites, etc?

These are called other bad objects. The two main bad objects are called Spyware and Virus, yet there are other types of bad objects but these are so to speak less important and a spyware or a virus software does protect against these other bad objects as well!

2) The second solution is to NEVER visit the extreme adult related websites! That’s right. Most of these sites have some kind of spyware or virus. There may be some who don’t but since the majority of these sites do have removal spyware spyware or viruses then the risk with these websites is very high.

So there you have it, TWO solutions.

Is that all?

No! The other nasty place you can get a virus is guess where? Inside your email. That’s right. Once again the solution is simple to avoid getting a virus from within emails you read. Here it is:

If the email contains any links NEVER click on them (unless you know for absolute certainty that the sender is someone you know for example a friend, a genuine newsletter, etc).

If the email contains attachments NEVER open them (unless you know for absolute certainty that the sender is someone you know for example a friend, a genuine newsletter, etc).

If you don’t know what’s an attachment these are usually images/videos/ or anything else attached to an email. The image may contain a virus, although to you it may look like an image (the virus is something you can’t see).

So with emails be careful, open emails only you know who’s the sender!

So now you know what’s the difference between adware and spyware and what you need to protect your computer against both.

How Virus Jumps from Host to Host

Virology - Virus 1 Comment

A new study has found how viruses jump from host to host.

HIV-AIDS. SARS. Ebola. Bird Flu. Swine Flu. Rabies-these are emerging infectious diseases where the viruses have jumped from one animal species into another and now infect humans.

This is a phenomenon known as cross-species transmission (CST) and scientists are working to determine what drives it.

Researchers have claimed that that cross-species transmission may have less to do with virus mutation and contact rates and more to do with host similarity.

H1N1 Can Be Transmitted From Humans to Pets

Virology - Virus No Comments

Cases of H1N1 in cats and ferrets appear to have been transmitted from symptomatic human household members, according to a new analysis from the Oregon Department of Human Services.

Emilio E. DeBess, DVM, from the Oregon Department of Human Services, in Portland, presented the findings here at a poster session at the International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases 2010.

“We are reporting the first cluster of laboratory-confirmed cases of H1N1 in the US,” the authors note, “in 4 ferrets and 2 cats.”

According to Dr. DeBess, the cases represent the first description of the pathology and viral antigen distribution of lethal respiratory disease in domestic cats after natural pandemic (H1N1) 2009 influenza virus infection, which was probably transmitted from humans.

Animal Hide Drums May Carry Anthrax to Musicians and Listeners

Microbiology, Virology - Virus No Comments

National and global conferences on health, new age, new thought, green, meditation, and spiritual themes should be aware that when they run familiar and relaxing drumming circles at various convention hotels, the hides of the drums might contain animal hides that could conceivably spread anthrax microbes.

Does your drum contain anthrax? The anthrax spore form lives for years in the soil. When the spores surface, they revert to the vegetative form to cause further disease when eaten by animals.

Carcasses of animal dying with anthrax should not be opened as the vegetative form turns to spores when exposed to air.

European Medicines Agency Confirms Positive Benefit-Risk Balance Of Rotarix

Virology - Virus No Comments

Following a review of the oral vaccine Rotarix, the European Medicines Agency’s Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) has concluded that the vaccine continues to have a positive benefit-risk balance and that the presence of a very small amount of viral particles does not present a risk to public health.

Results from a very large clinical study database, together with safety data from millions of children who have already received the vaccine, show no safety concern with the vaccine.

Rotarix is a vaccine given by mouth to children of 6 weeks and older, to protect against gastroenteritis (diarrhoea and vomiting) due to rotavirus infection.

WN Virus Cases Slump, But Authorities Warn of Precaution

Microbiology, Virology - Virus No Comments

The number of people infected with West Nile virus over the precedent years has shown a slump. The Department of Health and Senior Services reported three cases in the preceding year, and none have been reported so far in this season.

It will be rather a great thing if this tendency can be maintained all through, till the crucial time makes its way out.

The DHSS reports that WNV is transmitted to people when a mosquito bites and only if the mosquito has fed off a bird that had been infected with the virus. Bird-to-human transmission is not possible to happen.
